The following position is available at Clearfield High School: TRACK THROWING COACH We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and positive Throws Coach to join our high school track and field coaching staff. The coach will be responsible for developing athletes in the throwing events while helping create a team culture built on hard work, confidence, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Responsibilities: *Coach and develop athletes in shot put, discus, and Javelin as appropriate. *Teach proper throwing mechanics, footwork, technique, and event-specific skills. *Design progressive practices that develop strength, power, coordination, and athleticism. *Prioritize athlete safety, proper warm-ups, lifting techniques, and throwing-area safety. *Provide individualized instruction and feedback to help athletes improve. *Help athletes set realistic performance and personal goals. *Collaborate with the head coach and other event coaches to support the overall program. *Attend practices, meets, team activities, and required coaching meetings. *Promote a positive, inclusive, competitive, and encouraging team environment. *Serve as a positive role model for student athletes. Preferred Qualifications: *Previous track and field coaching or competitive experience, preferably in throwing events. *Knowledge of shot put, discus and Javelin technique and training principles. *Ability to communicate effectively with high school athletes. *Commitment to athlete development, safety, sportsmanship, and academic success. *Willingness to continue learning and developing as a coach. The ideal candidate is someone who loves track and field, enjoys working with teenagers, builds relationships, and believes every athlete can improve.
