Trackworks Engineer

The Trackwork Engineer is responsible for the planning, technical supervision, and quality assurance of all trackwork activities in rail infrastructure projects. This role ensures that track design, installation, and maintenance meet engineering standards safety regulations, and project specifications. The Trackwork Engineer coordinates with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to deliver high-quality and cost-effective track systems, supporting the safe and timely completion of railway construction and maintenance works.

Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to the following:

• Plan, supervise, and execute track construction and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers for timely delivery of materials and work.
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks on trackworks.
• Monitor progress and prepare regular reports on trackworks status.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions on-site.
• Manage manpower allocation and equipment usage for trackwork tasks.
• Ensure proper documentation of trackwork activities and compliance records.
• Collaborate with design and planning teams to optimize track layouts and alignments.
• Support testing and commissioning of track infrastructure.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or equivalent certification.
• Relevant coursework or training in railway engineering or trackworks is an advantage.
• Additional certifications in construction management or safety are a plus.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical standards.

Desired Knowledge / Experience

• Extensive experience in railway track construction and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of track design, alignment, and geometry.
• Familiarity with railway standards and safety regulations.
• Proficient in using surveying and measurement tools.
• Experience in managing subcontractors and on-site teams.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of track materials and their properties.
• Experience with quality control and assurance processes.
• Proven problem-solving skills in technical and field situations.
• Familiarity with project management and reporting tools.
