Tractor Driver

Position Summary

• A Tractor Operator will be responsible for operating various construction equipment including a farm tractor with a 14-foot batwing and/or plow to move materials, for brush hogging and discing. Ability to operate a zero-turn mower is a plus.
• May also be responsible for safety, equipment inspections, and possibly assisting with repairs.
• The position will be expected to assist other crafts in their downtimes, which may include non-operating activities.

Required Qualifications

• Must have experience and knowledge of operating varies construction equipment including but not limited to tractors and zero-turn mowers.
• Must have basic mechanical knowledge and illustrate the abilities to inspect equipment.
• Must have knowledge of and be familiar with soil types.
• Must illustrate knowledge of excavating and the specifications that are required for a given excavation.
• Must be able to follow instructions correctly.
• Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing administrative processes such as but not limited to equipment inspection paperwork.
• Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations. Must be able to make it work on time and work the designated schedule and any overtime as needed with the proper notification.

Preferred Additional Qualification

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’d employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Valid Driver’s License. TWIC card required.

This position does not have any direct reports.

Physical Requirements

• Employees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
