Trade Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Trade Assistant to join the team at Allflow Timber Finishes in Lonsdale, SA 5160. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our skilled tradespeople and ensuring the smooth operation of our timber finishing operations. As a Trade Assistant, you will be at the heart of our production process, learning valuable skills whilst contributing directly to the quality of our work. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in the timber finishing trade whilst working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting skilled tradespeople with timber preparation, sanding, staining, and finishing tasks
• Preparing work areas and ensuring all equipment and materials are organised and readily available
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards across the workshop and production areas
• Handling and storing timber and finishing materials in accordance with company procedures
• Assisting with the loading, unloading and transportation of materials and finished products
• Supporting quality control by identifying defects or issues and reporting them to supervisors
• Learning and adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies
• Performing general labouring duties as required to support the team

What we're looking for

• No prior experience necessary – willingness to learn and develop skills in the timber finishing trade
• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour duties, including lifting and carrying
• Reliability and a strong work ethic with a commitment to arriving on time and meeting deadlines
• A keen eye for detail and quality, with pride in maintaining high standards
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a willingness to take direction from senior staff
• A genuine interest in developing a career in the trades
• Health and safety awareness with a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
• Valid driver's license would be advantageous
