Trade Assistant

About the Role

As a Trade Assistant, you will provide practical support to tradespeople and maintenance crews across conveyor maintenance, shutdown preparation and general mechanical activities in the Pilbara.

The role is suited to candidates who are hands-on, safety-focused and comfortable working in mining and industrial environments

Key responsibilities include:

• Conveyor maintenance activities
• Roller and roller frame maintenance
• Shutdown work preparation
• Equipment cleaning and preparation
• General mechanical maintenance tasks
• Moving, handling and preparing tools, equipment and components
• Assisting tradespeople with day-to-day maintenance activities

About You

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• Construction White Card
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Working at Heights certification
• Confined Space Entry certification
• Previous experience working in shutdown environments
• Strong commitment to safety and quality
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Australian Working Rights

Highly Desirable

The following qualifications, experience and competencies will be highly regarded:

• Certificate II in Engineering or Resource Processing
• BHP or Rio Tinto site inductions
• EWP Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Basic Rigging Licence
• Telehandler experience/licence
• First Aid certification
• Conveyor belt maintenance, including roller, frame, pulley and drive component change-outs
• Bearing installation and alignment
• Experience with crushers, stackers and reclaimers
