Trade Execution - Software Engineer

A leading hedge fund is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join a team responsible for building and enhancing the technology that supports electronic trading, order routing, and execution workflows across global markets.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop high-performance applications and distributed services that support electronic trading and market interaction.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to deliver scalable solutions for latency-sensitive workloads.
• Drive software quality through thoughtful architecture, design reviews, testing, and code reviews.
• Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with trading, portfolio management, and risk stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Contribute to the evolution of core platform architecture and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and experience developing complex backend systems.
• Deep understanding of concurrent and multithreaded programming concepts.
• Experience designing and developing distributed systems in production environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, business-facing environment.
• Familiarity with modern developer productivity tools, including AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Ability to support, maintain, or extend applications built in C# when required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience building low-latency or high-throughput systems.
• Exposure to electronic trading, capital markets, market structure, or quantitative investment environments.
• Experience optimizing applications for performance and scalability.
• Understanding of fault-tolerant and highly available system design.
