Trade Planning Analyst

Position: Trade Planning Analyst

Location: Chicago, IL (in office 5 days a week)

Position Overview:

The position will support a variety of trade promotion and pricing activities for the sales team. This position will work closely with the Director of Revenue Management & Sales Planning to assist with RGM strategies and collaborate closely with Sales for execution.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure all expected trade spend funds as well as projected case shipments are captured in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to ensure invoice accuracy via our TPM (Trade Promotion Management) tool
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial models to facilitate the annual budget and forecasting process, particularly in preparation for the upcoming fiscal year
• Work closely with finance to ensure adequate accruals for promotion activities
• Manage external broker analysts by training on systems and trade promotion processes
• Track sales team KPI’s for efficiency of deduction processing and promotion entry and maintenance
• Support Deduction Management and A/P processes on behalf of Sales Team
• Maintain and communicate customer price lists with the sales and marketing teams
• Analyze Trade and Pricing strategies to ensure HFC plans are optimized for our customers and consumers
• Perform review and analysis of special projects and keep management properly informed Support Customer Service with Trade related pricing maintenance

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related degree
• Advanced analytical / technical abilities
• Excellent communication skills, especially with regards to communication with external broker teams
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal

Preferred:

• 2+ years experience in revenue management or related finance / accounting role (CPG experience preferred)
• Understanding of third party and internal data, particularly with trade management systems and external consumption platforms (IRI, Nielsen, etc.)
• Working knowledge of retail merchandising and in-store execution tactics
• Proficient in MS Office
