Trade Spend Assistant Manager

About the role

Trade Spend Assistant Manager is responsible for managing promotional investments made to encourage retailers to promote and sell products. These investments take various forms, including discounts, allowances, marketing support, co-op advertising, and other sales promotion incentives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimize trade spending across various promotion types including discounts, rebates, coupons, trade allowances, BOGO offers, in-store displays, co-op advertising, contests and sweepstakes, trade shows and expos, loyalty programs, sampling and product demonstrations, and cross-promotions
• Manage promotional budgets effectively to ensure resources are not overextended and financial strain is avoided
• Excel in data mining, reporting and analysis
• Manage in-store displays, sampling, product demonstrations, and trade show participation to enhance brand visibility
• Review and adjust spending to ensure sustainable and profitable trade spending
• Handle relationships with Customers, Retailers and Stakeholders

About you

• Graduate in Business Administration, Marketing or relevant field
• At least 5-8 years of Sales related experience in FMCG company
• Excellent command of the English language, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese
• Good communication skills in written, verbal and presentation
• Excellent use of computer resources and analytical tools including excel
• Strong analytical skills with proven track record in similar position
• Experience in handling good relationship with Customers, Retailers and Stakeholders
• Ability to review and adjust spending to ensure sustainable and profitable trade spending
• Resilience in navigating an intensely competitive retail environment and responding to competitor innovations
