Trader – Asset Management

Location: Remote - US (Highly preferred: Georgia)

Compensation: Base pay + 20-30% bonus

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced and high-integrity Trader to join an established asset management firm. This role will play a key part in executing investment transactions, supporting portfolio managers, and ensuring efficient trading operations across multiple asset classes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trading, portfolio management, and investment operations, with a preference for experience in derivatives trading, particularly options . Fixed income trading experience is also desirable.

You will collaborate with portfolio managers, ETF market makers, and other internal stakeholders to monitor trades, manage risk, generate reports, and identify opportunities to improve trading processes and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor investment transactions across multiple asset classes.
• Support portfolio managers in achieving investment objectives through efficient trade execution and market analysis.
• Monitor trade activity, resolve discrepancies, and help mitigate trading and settlement risks.
• Coordinate with ETF market makers to support trading activities and ensure efficient execution.
• Support domestic and international trade settlement, reconciliation, and post-trade processes.
• Prepare trading reports and provide relevant market and portfolio insights.
• Identify opportunities to optimize trading workflows, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen controls.
• Support new business initiatives and contribute to the implementation of trading-related processes.
• Collaborate with investment operations and other stakeholders to ensure smooth end-to-end trade execution.
• Handle confidential investment and client information with discretion.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in trading, portfolio management, & investment operations.
• Comprehensive understanding of trading processes and their relationship to portfolio management and investment operations.
• Experience with domestic and international trade settlement and reconciliation.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and programming, particularly Python.
• Experience working within a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) environment and familiarity with ETFs.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, AIM, Orion, or other portfolio management and trading systems.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to respond effectively to urgent requests while maintaining accuracy and work quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience trading derivatives, particularly options, or managing portfolios with options exposure.
• Fixed income trading experience.
• Experience working with ETF market makers and supporting ETF trading activities.
• Knowledge of trading risk management, execution quality, and post-trade controls.
• Experience using Python to support trading analysis, reporting, or workflow automation.
