About the job:

Ethora Renewables is looking for a Trader with a strong mathematical background and sound commercial judgement.

In this role, you will take ownership of pricing, position management, and market analysis across environmental commodities. You will combine day-to-day trading with quantitative modelling, fundamental analysis, and forecasting, working closely with our commercial team.

We are looking for someone who can independently develop reliable models, make informed trading decisions, and remain accountable for positions, risk, and performance.

Your responsibilities:

• Develop, validate, and maintain quantitative models for pricing and valuation
• Manage the trading book, execute transactions, and monitor positions and exposures within agreed risk limits
• Conduct fundamental supply and demand analysis and develop market forecasts
• Evaluate trading opportunities and assess risk through quantitative modelling, scenario analysis, and stress testing
• Build and improve Excel-based trading tools, analytical models, and reporting
• Work closely with the commercial team to provide consistent pricing and actionable market insights

What we’re looking for:

• A completed university degree in financial mathematics, mathematics, quantitative finance, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
• Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to independently build, validate, and maintain complex financial models
• Strong knowledge of probability, statistics, financial modelling, and forecasting
• The ability to connect market fundamentals and quantitative analysis to practical trading decisions
• Fluent English and the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly
• Strong attention to detail, disciplined risk management, and confidence taking ownership of decisions and results

A master’s degree or PhD, programming skills in Python or VBA, CFA studies, and experience in renewable energy or environmental commodities are all welcome but not essential.
