Trades Assistant

APT Water, part of the AxFlow Group, delivers reliable pump and fluid handling solutions across Western Australia. Established in 2006, we offer complete turn-key services from design to commissioning, backed by industry experience and premium technology. This role is responsible for supporting our tradespeople and operational teams through a variety of workshop, logistics and warehouse activities. You will play an important role in ensuring our workshop operates safely, efficiently and productively while contributing to the delivery of high-quality products and services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with tools, materials and workshop production preparation
• Operate forklifts, power tools and other workshop equipment safely and efficiently
• Load, unload and move materials throughout the workshop and warehouse
• Prepare goods for dispatch, including packaging, labelling and coordinating freight requirements
• Assist with maintaining inventory records and reporting stock discrepancies
• Support general warehouse and workshop operations as required
• Perform labouring duties including hands on assembly and fitting of pipework, cleaning, lifting and basic repair work
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
• Conduct routine inspections and report faults, hazards or maintenance issues
• Read, understand and apply drawings and schematics
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and policies at all times

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Previous experience in a Trades Assistant, Warehouse or Logistics environment is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• The ability to perform physically demanding work
• Basic mechanical aptitude or an interest in mechanical equipment
• A strong commitment to workplace safety
• Current Forklift Licence (LF) would be highly regarded, but not essential
