Trading Systems Architect

TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading wealth management organization to hire a Trading Platform Architect . This role sits at the intersection of trading, investment operations, workflow design, and technology, helping shape the next generation of trading infrastructure and operating models. The ideal candidate understands the mechanics of trade execution while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, analytics, and process innovation.

Responsibilities

• Execute domestic and international equity trades while optimizing liquidity, timing, execution strategy, and market impact.
• Design and enhance trading workflows, operating procedures, and platform functionality across the trading lifecycle.
• Support the development of automation solutions, AI-enabled tools, and scalable investment processes.
• Improve execution quality and operational efficiency through technology, analytics, and process optimization.
• Partner with investment, compliance, operations, broker, and technology teams to support a seamless front-to-back trading environment.
• Strengthen trading infrastructure, controls, and post-trade operating frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes through automation and systems integration.
• Participate in strategic initiatives focused on modernizing investment operations and leveraging emerging technologies.
• Support broker management, trading governance, and operational improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience in trading, investment operations, portfolio operations, middle office, or a related investment management environment.
• Strong understanding of the equity trading lifecycle and associated operational processes.
• Experience improving workflows, operating models, or business processes within an investment organization.
• Interest in automation, data analytics, AI, and technology-enabled process transformation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with investment professionals, brokers, operations teams, compliance groups, and technology partners.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ownership mentality with the ability to challenge existing processes and drive improvements.
• Experience with trading systems, workflow tools, automation platforms, analytics solutions, or process improvement initiatives.
• Adaptability, curiosity, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
