Trading Systems Reliability Engineer

An established global quantitative trading firm is looking for a Trading Systems Reliability Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Singapore.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of electronic trading, supporting mission-critical production systems in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. You'll take ownership of complex technical incidents, develop automation to improve operational efficiency and work closely with traders and developers to ensure the reliability of trading infrastructure.

The role offers a strong blend of hands-on production engineering, software development and real-time problem-solving, with the opportunity to make a direct impact on the performance and resilience of trading systems.

Day-to-day:

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support, taking ownership of complex production incidents across a suite of in-house trading applications
• Identify recurring operational issues and develop automated workflows and custom tooling to replace manual processes
• Modernise monitoring, alerting and reporting systems to improve platform visibility and ensure reliable execution of scheduled jobs
• Act as a key technical contact for the trading desk, collaborating directly with traders, trade monitors and core developers during market hours
• Oversee automated deployments and configuration updates, ensuring the stability and reliability of production systems

Experience:

• Prior experience in production engineering or high-availability technical support
• Strong Python and Bash scripting skills, with an engineering mindset focused on automation and scalable solutions
• Deep knowledge of Linux fundamentals, SQL, configuration management, Git and deployment pipelines
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex distributed system outages under time pressure
• Exposure to financial markets or electronic trading environments
• Familiarity with order management systems (OMS) and market data protocols
