Trailer Mechanic

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds
• Must be able to work in confined spaces

Responsibilities Include:

• Major and minor repairs on trailers
• Diagnose and repair trailer components
• Floor, Door, Roof, Brakes, Suspension, Electrical, Rail, Side Panel Repair, ETC
• Perform FHWA inspections

Physical Requirements:

• Work is considered heavy physical work requiring exertion of 150 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force consistently to move objects.
• Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work.
• Must be able to: walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel and crouch for extended periods of time

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform routine maintenance functions & adjustments on all types of equipment in compliance with manufacture's and company standards.
• Create job repair plan based on diagnosis and determine part requirements to complete repair.
• Repair/replace all parts of equipment systems.
• Access any area of the equipment/vehicle to perform necessary maintenance including: inspect & perform work in, on or under vehicle.
• Safely walk, reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat & kneel as necessary to perform job duties.
• Responsible for shop cleanliness, safety & compliance.
• Apply knowledge & work in accordance with DOT & other rules as required.
• Follow company policy & procedures in making all repairs.
• Perform duties as assigned.
• Prompt daily attendance of assigned schedule.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
