Trailer Mechanic

Job Description:

As a Trailer Mechanic at John Brown Trucking, you will be responsible for making repairs to trailers as needed. These repairs could range from repairing trailer floors, to fabricating body parts, to making mechanical repairs as needed.

Trailer Mechanic Schedule:

• Monday-Friday: 4:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M. (Flexible)

Trailer Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Weld and repair floors/body panels.
• Straighten and repair tailgates.
• Repair and diagnose air brake systems.
• Fabricate parts as needed.
• Communicate potential issues with equipment to other departments.
• Perform other welding repairs as assigned.

Trailer Technician Benefits:

• Starting pay is $22 an hour and up depending on experience.

Trailer Mechanic Qualifications:

• Must know how to MIG and SMAW weld.
• 3+ years of experience as a trailer mechanic is required.
• 5+ years of experience is a plus.
• 1+ years of experience as a welder / fabricator.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a diesel/welding/fitting program is a plus.
• Ability to diagnose issues with welding and cutting equipment is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
