Step onto our production floor and into a hands-on role where your work turns raw materials into road-ready semi-trailers. As a Trailer Systems Assembly Technician at Great Dane, you will rotate through tasks, master power tools, and keep quality front and center while working safely alongside an experienced team.

Schedule and pay

• Monday–Thursday workweek
• 1st shift: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; 2nd shift: 6:00 PM–4:30 AM
• Available overtime
• Wages starting from $20.85/hour
• • $2/hour night shift premium
• Two weeks paid vacation
• No previous experience required; we will train

What you will do

• Use pneumatic and electric tools with confidence: drills, drivers for screws and other fasteners, multiple types of riveters (pistol grip, pop, mashers, squeezers), impact wrenches, nut-runners, saws, and grinders.
• Assemble components and install subassemblies on a moving production line to build semi-trailers.
• Work with steel, aluminum, wood, fiberglass, composites, small fasteners and fittings, adhesives, and oil-based products.
• Move and stage materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, hand or powered carts, or by hand.
• Keep your station and equipment clean and organized while following all safety and security procedures.
• Pitch in with other routine tasks as needed to support the team.

What you bring

• Ability to operate a wide range of pneumatic power tools and related equipment.
• Read a tape measure and other measuring tools accurately.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and learn new tasks quickly; retain and repeat multi-step work from day to day.
• Meet or exceed daily production expectations while minimizing scrap and waste; always look for cost-saving opportunities.
• Adapt output to the process, customer specifications, volume, and location; expected quantities vary.
• Inspect your work per standard operating procedures to ensure quality.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and timely problem-solving skills.
• Clear, effective communication in English.

Work environment and physical requirements

• Office and plant environment.
• Keyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, walking.
• Ability to stand and move about on concrete for 8–12 hours a day. Ability to see, walk, bend, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, carry, climb (including ladders), work overhead, push, and pull.
• Lift up to 50 pounds multiple times during an 8–12 hour shift.
• Maneuver large parts and assemblies (up to 180 pounds) by pushing, pulling, and flipping them into place.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
