Trailer Technician

Job Overview

Join P&B Intermodal as a Container & Trailer Technician and help keep trailers, chassis, and shipping containers operating safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance for national and international customers in active distribution yards.

Experienced trailer mechanics are encouraged to apply. Entry-level opportunities are also available, with comprehensive training for mechanically inclined candidates who are ready to begin a career in trailer maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair chassis and trailer components, including ABS systems, air brakes, wheel ends, and structural components.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Complete minor welding and fabrication on chassis and shipping containers.
• Inspect equipment and identify safety or maintenance concerns.
• Use a mobile app to manage work orders and accurately document repairs.
• Follow company safety procedures while working in active distribution yards.
• Perform work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Required Qualifications

• Mechanical experience, training, or strong mechanical aptitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work safely with tools and equipment.
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trailer, chassis, container, automotive, diesel, or heavy-equipment repair experience.
• Welding or fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of ABS and air-brake systems.
• Basic knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems.
• Spanish-language skills.

Compensation and Career Growth

• $20.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on experience.
