Trailer Technician

Job Overview

Capitol City Trailers is hiring an experienced Truck Body & Semi-Trailer Repair Technician for our Obetz shop. In this role you'll diagnose and repair light, medium and heavy-duty truck bodies, semi-trailers, and related components to OEM and factory standards. You'll work with modern OEM diagnostic tools, keep clear records, and help guide apprentices as part of a team that takes pride in doing the job right, safely, and on time.

Job Duties

• Perform service, maintenance, and repair work efficiently, safely, and accurately
• Diagnose and repair truck bodies, semi-trailers, and related components to OEM and factory standards
• Perform repairs on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty truck bodies and semi-trailers
• Use OEM diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve repair issues
• Communicate clearly with the supervisor on repair status, findings, and required follow-up work
• Track warranty-related parts and ensure proper documentation and return of components to manufacturers
• Maintain accurate records in internal business systems and approved partner platforms
• Provide guidance to apprentices and assistants, including explaining procedures and troubleshooting unusual issues
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations
• Participate in required safety meetings and training sessions
• Stay current with evolving repair techniques, tools, and industry best practices
• Work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a professional, positive attitude

Experience Requirements:

• Working knowledge of shop equipment, tools, and repair processes
• Basic understanding of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty truck body and semi-trailer systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to high-quality customer service
• Own a sufficient set of personal tools required for the position
• Able to pass a criminal background check, physical examination, and drug and alcohol screening

Preferred:

• 1+ year of relevant truck body or trailer repair experience, or
• Technical school certification, or
• Vo-Tech graduate in a related field

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
