What they need

Req ID:529501

At Alstom, we build what millions depend on daily - rail transportation systems that can't afford to fail. We're more than 85,000 people worldwide creating the industry's most diverse portfolio: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services and integrated systems.

More Than a Job: A Mission We are looking for a passionate Train Maintenance Engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and ensuring the reliability of critical rail systems. You will collaborate with dedicated teams to design, optimize, and maintain cutting-edge solutions that keep cities moving safely and efficiently.

Your Role, Your Impact

  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure fleet scalability and operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance schedules with production and service goals.
  • Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies to enhance system uptime and reduce lifecycle costs.
  • Drive innovation through predictive maintenance technologies, including IoT sensors and data analytics tools.
  • Promote knowledge sharing by developing technical documentation and mentoring junior engineers on maintenance best practices.

You'll work with sharp, committed teams solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility, ensuring seamless integration of business and technology.

What You Bring

  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo or SAP PM.
  • Strong understanding of traction systems, braking systems, and onboard diagnostics.
  • Experience applying root cause analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals for rolling stock systems.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and safety culture.

How Success Is Measured

  • On-time delivery of maintenance schedules and adherence to service-level agreements.
  • Effective collaboration across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.
  • Reduction in equipment downtime and measurable improvements in reliability metrics.

Alstom, A Great Place to Grow

  • Work with advanced digital maintenance tools and sustainable mobility technologies.
  • Contribute to global rail projects while making a tangible local impact in Boston.
  • Access continuous learning programs and career development pathways within a global network.

Compensation: $75k - 105k (depending on experience)

Here, progress isn't always easy but the impact is real. Because the scale is massive, the tasks are complex when the system runs, the train moves, and the city connects that feeling stays with you. And the legacy lasts.
