Job Summary

Ucalux Construction Management and Contracting is seeking a motivated and technically inclined Corp Member with a degree in Civil Engineering to join our Project Team as a Trainee Civil Engineer.

The successful candidate will provide technical and site support across construction activities, assist with site inspections, measurements, documentation, and monitoring of work progress, while gaining practical experience in civil engineering and construction project execution during their NYSC programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project and Site Engineering Teams in monitoring daily construction activities and work progress.
• Participate in site inspections and assist with monitoring work in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Assist with measurements, quantity checks, and basic site assessments under supervision.
• Take and maintain daily site photographs and support the preparation of site reports.
• Maintain records of labour attendance, material deliveries, usage, and other site activities.
• Assist with tracking outstanding works, defects, materials, and subcontractor activities.
• Support the documentation and organisation of drawings, inspection records, delivery notes, and other project documents.
• Report observed site issues, defects, delays, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with other engineering and construction-related activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• Must be a fresh Corp Member who has just completed NYSC Camp and is currently seeking a PPA.
• Must be available to commence PPA promptly.
• Prior internship, industrial training, or practical experience in Civil Engineering or construction is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of construction methods, site operations, and engineering principles.
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop practical engineering skills.
• Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Proximity to Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi is preferred.
