What they need
Manchester | Trainee Events Manager | Monday to Friday | Start within 2 weeks
You are the person who instinctively takes charge of group plans, keeps track of every moving part, and stays calm when schedules change at the last minute. You naturally notice the flow of a room, enjoy solving practical logistics problems, and take genuine pride in guiding a project from an initial checklist to a successful finish.
If you have strong organizational instincts and want to build a career managing live experiences from the ground up, this full-time role in Manchester will suit you well. We are expanding our regional operations and are looking for a Trainee Events Manager to learn our end-to-end event delivery model and help coordinate our growing calendar of local activations and brand events.
Your Key Responsibilities
Working directly alongside senior event managers, you will learn how to run live events and coordinate project teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the planning, scheduling, and logistical coordination for upcoming Manchester events.
- Liaising with venue managers, equipment suppliers, and contractors to secure space and resources.
- Supervising event setup, ensuring displays, AV equipment, and signage are correctly installed.
- Briefing event staff each morning on shift priorities, brand guidelines, and safety standards.
- Overseeing live floor operations to ensure presentations and customer interactions run to time.
- Handling on-site troubleshooting, resolving minor logistical delays or venue queries promptly.
- Monitoring event attendance, collecting visitor feedback, and compiling post-event performance reports.
- Managing equipment inventory, stock counts, and post-event pack-downs.
What We Look For in You
We value organizational ability, leadership potential, and a proactive mindset over formal management credentials. We are looking for:
- Sharp organizational habits and the ability to stay focused when managing multiple tasks.
- Clear, confident communication skills across phone, email, and face-to-face settings.
- A practical, problem-solving attitude when dealing with unexpected operational changes.
- High personal standards for punctuality, reliability, and professional presentation.
- Comfort leading small group discussions and coordinating shift tasks.
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, customer service, administration, university societies, or event hosting is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided.
Structured Learning & Progression
This is a structured trainee role designed to build genuine management capability step-by-step.
You will start by shadowing senior managers through the complete event lifecycle—from initial venue walkthroughs to budget tracking and live floor management. Through weekly one-to-one coaching sessions, you will receive constructive feedback on your leadership style, site logistics, and client communication. As your confidence and operational knowledge develop, you will take full responsibility for smaller local events before moving on to manage larger regional campaigns independently.
What You Can Expect
- Competitive base salary
- Performance-based bonuses linked to event success metrics
- Complete initial training covering event operations, risk management, and supplier coordination
- Structured weekly coaching and ongoing professional feedback
- Practical experience managing real-world events and teams
- Regular team social events and industry networking activities
- Formal recognition for high operational standards and project success
- A direct internal pathway into full Event Manager and Account Manager positions
How to Apply
If you want to step into event coordination and develop genuine project management skills, send your CV along with your up-to-date contact details. We review applications regularly and will contact suitable candidates for an initial phone discussion.
