What they need
Liverpool | Trainee Events Manager (Full-time)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
You are the person who thrives on the energy of live occasions, but naturally stays focused on the practical details that make them work. While everyone else is taking in the atmosphere, you're observing how the queue is flowing, whether the signage is clear, and making sure the support team knows exactly what needs to happen next.
If you are keen to build a hands-on career in event production, venue operations, and floor coordination across Merseyside, this full-time trainee role in Liverpool offers a clear, structured start. We are expanding our regional event operations and need an organized, level-headed Trainee Events Manager to learn event delivery, site logistics, and floor supervision from the ground up.
Key Event Responsibilities
Working directly alongside senior event producers across partner venues in Liverpool, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Assisting with pre-event setup logistics, inventory dispatches, and floor plans prior to doors opening.
- Coordinating on-site staging, brand displays, and setting up guest registration points.
- Serving as a reliable, approachable point of contact for venue contacts, technical crews, and suppliers on shift.
- Briefing event assistants on their daily responsibilities, task distributions, and site safety protocols.
- Managing visitor entry, directing footfall across busy venue spaces, and resolving guest queries quickly.
- Conducting regular floor walkthroughs during live sessions to maintain venue standards and schedule timings.
- Tracking visitor numbers, gathering feedback, and writing post-event operational summaries.
- Supervising site pack-downs after event closures to ensure all equipment is reconciled and packed safely.
What We Look For
We place far more weight on practical problem-solving habits, personal composure, and strong organizational skills than on years of prior production history. We look for:
- A calm, composed mindset when event schedules or venue arrangements change at short notice.
- Clear, polite spoken communication and a professional floor presence with venue leads and the public.
- High attention to detail regarding shift schedules, gear manifests, and site safety procedures.
- Strong personal reliability, punctuality, and comfort working active, floor-based shifts.
- A collaborative, supportive attitude during fast-paced setup and pack-down windows.
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, retail, administration, or university society events is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided.
Onboarding & Practical Coaching
This position provides a structured, step-by-step pathway from floor support to managing complete regional events independently.
Your training begins by shadowing experienced event managers through complete event lifecycles, learning our venue protocols, risk management standards, and contractor coordination tools. Through regular one-to-one coaching sessions, you will review recent event runs and receive constructive feedback on your floor management and schedule drafting. As your confidence grows, you will take ownership of individual venue zones, coordinate supplier handovers, and step into full Events Manager duties.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary
- Enhanced pay rates for weekend shifts
- Performance-based bonuses linked to event execution standards
- Complete initial training covering event safety, supplier logistics, and venue operations
- Regular one-to-one coaching and ongoing skills development
- Practical experience across live venues and brand activations in Liverpool
- Team social events and group incentives
- Formal recognition for thorough planning, reliability, and floor leadership
- Clear internal pathways to step directly into full Events Manager positions
