What they need
London | Trainee Events Manager | Full-time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
You are likely the person who feels standard planning never goes far enough, the one who maps out fallback options, cross-checks delivery times, and keeps every contact number sorted before anyone else has even opened their calendar. You enjoy the atmosphere of live events, but what genuinely drives you is the precision behind the scenes: turning schedules, floor plans, and supplier contracts into a seamlessly run occasion.
If you want to build a career in professional event management and learn how high-profile corporate functions, product showcases, and industry summits are produced in London, this structured trainee role is designed for you. We are expanding our capital production team and need an organized, quick-thinking Trainee Events Manager to learn full-cycle project delivery alongside our senior event producers.
Core Management Trainee Duties
Working closely with our London project leads and production partners, your duties will expand across complete event lifecycles:
- Learning to create comprehensive event run-of-show schedules, seating diagrams, and health and safety documentation.
- Liaising directly with London venue managers, AV technicians, and catering suppliers to confirm site requirements.
- Managing online delegate ticketing platforms, processing registration queries, and issuing digital access passes.
- Coordinating live reception operations, greeting keynote speakers, and managing guest arrival streams on event days.
- Conducting pre-event technical walkthroughs, testing presentation displays, and checking venue branding placement.
- Monitoring live event timelines to ensure speaker sessions, panel discussions, and networking breaks run strictly on time.
- Overseeing post-event venue clear-downs, inventorying returning equipment, and logging venue condition reports.
- Compiling post-event delegate feedback reports and assisting with supplier invoice reconciliations and project budgets.
What We Look For
We value clear communication, calm decision-making under pressure, and systematic personal habits far more than years of prior agency experience. We look for:
- A clear, articulate communication style when working with corporate clients, venue directors, and technical teams.
- Exceptional personal organization, with a methodical approach to tracking multiple project timelines simultaneously.
- A composed, resourceful mindset when handling last-minute schedule adjustments or technical changes on live event days.
- Confidence using core office software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and online event management systems.
- Flexibility regarding working hours during live event delivery across central London.
- Previous experience in hospitality, front desk administration, customer service, retail, university society leadership, or sales support is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided.
Structured Mentorship & Career Development
Our development pathway gives you direct, practical involvement across every stage of commercial event production.
You will start by shadowing an experienced event producer through complete project cycles, from initial client briefing and budget setting to site management and post-event analysis. Through weekly one-to-one coaching sessions, you will learn contract negotiation, risk assessment creation, budget management, and on-site team leadership. As your operational confidence grows, you will take ownership of smaller standalone project zones before stepping into lead Event Manager roles.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary
- Performance-based bonuses linked to event execution standards and project delivery targets
- Comprehensive initial training covering event software, floor logistics, and contract management
- Weekly one-to-one coaching and continuous skill progression
- Practical event management experience across premier London venues
- Team social outings and group incentives
- Formal recognition for attention to detail, shift reliability, and project support
- Clear internal pathways to progress into lead Event Manager and Senior Producer positions

If you want to bring your organizational strengths and practical mindset to a growing London events team, please submit your CV along with your up-to-date contact details. We review applications regularly and will contact suitable candidates for an initial telephone conversation.
