Trainee Fire Extinguisher Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Fire Extinguisher Engineer to join our team. No previous experience is necessary, as full training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the fire safety industry.

As a Trainee Fire Extinguisher Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, servicing and maintaining fire extinguishers at customer premises. You will receive full training and ongoing support to develop the knowledge and practical skills required for the role.

You will play an important part in helping to ensure that fire safety equipment is properly maintained and that all work is carried out in accordance with relevant standards, procedures and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain fire extinguishers at customer premises.
• Follow a daily schedule of booked appointments, including installations, routine servicing and remedial works.
• Travel between customer sites using a company van.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete scheduled jobs efficiently.
• Complete job records and service documentation accurately using an iPad.
• Follow all relevant health and safety procedures.
• Provide professional, friendly and courteous customer service.
• Maintain company equipment and keep the work vehicle clean and tidy.
• Attend training sessions and develop the skills and knowledge required for the role.

Requirements

• No previous experience required; full training will be provided.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Basic computer skills and confidence using an iPad or other digital devices.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable, punctual and well organised.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable with the physical aspects of the role, including lifting, carrying and handling fire extinguishers and related equipment, in accordance with safe working practices.
• Professional and approachable manner when dealing with customers.
• Genuine interest in developing a career in the fire safety industry.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday.
• 9:00am–5:00pm.
• 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
• 37.5 paid hours per week.

Education

GCSEs or equivalent preferred, but not essential.

Work Location

Field-based, working at customer premises and travelling between appointments throughout the designated working area.
