You don't need previous trading or sales experience. Our client will provide structured training, ongoing support and the opportunity to progress into a fully independent commercial trading role within approximately 12 months.

The successful candidate will learn how to identify buying and selling opportunities, negotiate with customers and suppliers, manage commercial transactions and develop their own portfolio of business.

The Role

Working closely with an experienced commercial team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying new business opportunities through established industry networks and online trading platforms.
  • Responding to customer enquiries, preparing competitive quotations and following up on sales opportunities.
  • Sourcing products from suppliers, comparing pricing, availability and commercial terms.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers across the UK and globally.
  • Negotiating purchase and selling prices to achieve profitable outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions, quotations, orders and transactions.
  • Monitoring market activity and developing an understanding of pricing, demand and commercial opportunities.
  • Supporting the wider team with order management, deliveries and customer service.

About You

We're particularly interested in speaking with individuals who demonstrate commercial ambition, confidence and a genuine desire to learn.

Ideally, you'll offer:

  • At least one year's experience in sales, customer service, IT, or a similar commercial environment.
  • An interest in technology, IT products or the wider technology industry.
  • Confident communication skills, particularly over the telephone and by email.
  • A natural ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Good numerical skills and an understanding of pricing, costs and margins.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Competence with Microsoft Excel and confidence learning new systems.
  • A proactive, resilient and target-driven approach.

Previous experience in IT sales, telesales, account management, procurement, distribution or technical customer support would be particularly relevant, although applicants from other commercially focused backgrounds are equally encouraged to apply. We are equally interested in hearing from recent graduates who have an interest in a commercial sales role.

Above all, we're looking for someone with drive, initiative and the motivation to build a successful career.

Training & Career Progression

This position offers a genuine opportunity to develop specialist commercial expertise through a structured training programme.

Initially, you'll receive hands-on coaching in product knowledge, customer and supplier management, commercial negotiations, pricing and transaction processes.

As your confidence and experience develop, you'll gradually take ownership of your own customer relationships, commercial opportunities and performance targets.

The aim is for the successful candidate to progress into a fully independent trading position within approximately 12–18 months, with increased responsibility, strong earning potential and increased responsibility.

Salary & Benefits
