Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trainee Laser Operator to join our sheet metal fabrication team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within the engineering and manufacturing industry.

The successful candidate will receive training in the setup and operation of our laser cutting machines, learning how to produce high-quality sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Previous laser cutting experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. However, a good work ethic, attention to detail and willingness to learn are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn to set up and operate laser cutting machines safely and efficiently
• Load and unload sheet metal and finished components
• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, job sheets and work orders
• Assist with selecting the correct materials and machine settings for each job
• Carry out quality checks to ensure finished parts meet required specifications
• Monitor machine operation and report any issues or faults
• Learn how to identify different materials, thicknesses and cutting requirements
• Assist with the organisation and handling of finished components
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
• Work collaboratively with press brake and fabrication teams
• Carry out basic routine machine maintenance as required
• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times

No previous laser cutting experience is required, as training will be provided. Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or sheet metal environment would be beneficial but is not essential.

This role is Mon-Thurs 7.00am - 16.00pm. Fridays 7.00am - 12.30pm.

Up to £14ph.
