Trainee Machine Operator

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Machine Operator to join our production team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in manufacturing or engineering. You will receive full training to operate machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring high-quality production output.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Learn to operate and monitor production machinery under supervision.
• Assist with machine setup, calibration, and basic maintenance.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
• Inspect finished products for quality and report any defects.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Record production data and report issues to the supervisor.
• Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Any other duties assigned by your line manager and required by the business.

REQUIREMENTS:

• No prior experience required; training will be provided.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Flexible to work shifts, including nights and weekends if required.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Good time management.

DESIRABLE:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with health and safety practices.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• GCSEs or equivalent (Maths and English).
• Familiarity with continuous improvement is an advantage.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
