Trainee Manager

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm

The Opportunity

Management development starts with understanding how a business actually operates at ground level. This Trainee Manager role is designed for someone who wants to build that understanding from the start — learning customer acquisition, campaign operations and performance before gradually gaining exposure to coaching, team leadership and wider responsibility. The focus is on developing strong fundamentals, learning from experience and earning greater responsibility through capability and performance.

Stage One — Learn

• Understanding campaign operations and day-to-day business activity
• Developing customer acquisition and communication skills
• Learning company and client standards
• Understanding KPIs and performance expectations
• Building commercial awareness and understanding business performance
• Demonstrating consistency, accountability and professional standards

Stage Two — Lead

• Supporting and encouraging newer team members
• Giving constructive feedback and sharing knowledge
• Helping with coaching and training activities
• Supporting the motivation and development of a small team
• Monitoring performance and identifying areas for improvement
• Helping solve day-to-day problems
• Setting a positive example for professional standards

Stage Three — Develop

As capability develops, there may be opportunities to gain broader exposure to campaign management, team development, planning, performance analysis and operational decision-making. Progression is not automatic or based on a fixed timeframe; greater responsibility is earned through demonstrated performance, capability, consistency and continued development.

Previous management experience can be useful but is not essential. Experience from hospitality supervision, retail, sales, volunteering, university societies, sports teams or other positions involving responsibility can provide valuable transferable skills.
