Trainee Operations Manager

We're looking for a Trainee Operations Manager to join a growing sales and marketing business in Chelmsford. You'll start by learning the commercial side of the operation first-hand before developing towards greater responsibility across people, campaigns and business performance.

This isn't a traditional warehouse, logistics or administrative operations role. It's a hands-on, sales-based management pathway where you'll learn how the business works from the ground up.

Learn the Commercial Side

Your initial training will focus on understanding where business results come from. You'll gain experience in:

Sales and customer acquisition

Building customer relationships and understanding their needs

Supporting live sales and marketing campaigns

Working towards individual and team targets

Understanding sales and campaign performance

Developing communication and commercial awareness

Step Into Operations

Once you've built a strong commercial foundation, you'll begin gaining exposure to the wider operation, including:

Coordinating teams and campaign activity

Coaching and supporting team members

Monitoring results and improving performance

Recruitment and onboarding

Campaign planning and management

Supporting day-to-day business operations

The goal is to help you understand customers, revenue, people and performance before progressing towards managing them.

Who Would Suit This Role?

Previous management experience isn't required.

You could be a strong fit if you're organised, confident with people and interested in business and leadership. We're looking for someone who takes initiative, responds well to feedback and is comfortable working towards measurable goals.

Experience in sales, retail, hospitality or customer service can be useful, but isn't essential.
