Recruitment is part conversation, part problem-solving and part knowing when you’ve found the right match.

We’re looking for a Trainee Recruiter to join our Glasgow team. You’ll learn how to find candidates, understand what they’re looking for and connect them with opportunities that make sense for their experience and ambitions.

You don’t need recruitment experience. We’re looking for someone who can hold a good conversation, isn’t afraid to pick up the phone and genuinely enjoys dealing with different people.

Learning the Recruiter Role

From your first few weeks, you’ll start getting involved in the recruitment process while receiving support from the team.

You’ll learn how to:

• Search for and approach potential candidates
• Speak with applicants and understand what they’re looking for
• Review CVs and identify relevant experience
• Conduct initial candidate conversations
• Match people with suitable vacancies
• Arrange interviews and keep candidates updated
• Write and post job adverts
• Build relationships with candidates and clients
• Keep recruitment records and systems organised

Could Recruitment Suit You?

You might be coming from retail, hospitality, customer service, sales or university, or simply looking for a career where your communication skills matter.

We’re interested in people who are confident without being pushy, organised enough to keep track of several conversations and comfortable hearing “no” occasionally without letting it ruin their day.

You’ll also need curiosity. Good recruiters ask questions, listen properly and remember that there’s a real person behind every CV.

What You’ll Build

As you gain experience, you’ll develop skills in candidate sourcing, interviewing, relationship management, negotiation and commercial recruitment.

You’ll receive full training, regular one-to-one coaching and ongoing feedback. There’ll also be opportunities to learn more about client relationships, account management and eventually supporting or coaching others.
