ProMinent New Zealand is part of the global ProMinent Group, a market leader in chemical dosing, disinfection, and water treatment technology. We are looking for a motivated, practical, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Service Technician based in Rangiora.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing company. You’ll start by developing hands-on experience servicing and maintaining our equipment, gaining valuable product knowledge and practical skills. As your experience grows, opportunities exist to progress into Project Engineering, Project Management, or Technical Sales roles.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting with the servicing, maintenance, and commissioning of water treatment and chemical dosing equipment.
• Travelling throughout the South Island to support customer sites.
• Learning how ProMinent products and systems operate through hands-on experience.
• Supporting senior service technicians on installations, repairs, and troubleshooting activities.
• Assisting with workshop assembly, testing, and preparation of equipment.
• Building technical knowledge that can lead to future opportunities in projects, engineering support, or technical sales.

What We’re Looking For

• A strong electrical/mechanical or technical aptitude.
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel throughout the South Island as required.
• A current Full New Zealand Driver Licence is essential.
• Previous experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, engineering, or trade-related work is advantageous but not essential.
• This role may also suit someone with an Electrical Service Technician (EST) licence who is looking to broaden their experience across service, commissioning, instrumentation, water treatment systems, project delivery, and technical sales.
• A genuine desire to build a long-term career and develop new skills.
