What they need
Ion Care and Support Services Ltd
Are you an experienced Care Coordinator or Care Supervisor looking to take the next step in your career?
At Ion Care and Support Services, we're looking for an experienced and motivated individual who is ready to develop their career in care management.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has a good understanding of how care services operate and wants to build on that experience to become a Care at Home Service Manager.
We're looking for someone who can build on their existing experience, is keen to develop new skills and has the drive and commitment to progress into a management role.
You'll work closely with our existing management team, gaining hands-on experience of managing a care at home service across South Lanarkshire. We'll support you through a structured training programme, practical experience and competency assessments to help you build the knowledge and confidence needed to progress into the Service Manager role.
What will you be doing?
As a Trainee Service Manager, you'll be involved in the day-to-day running of our care at home service, gradually taking on more responsibility as your experience and confidence develop.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day coordination of care, ensuring visits are appropriately staffed and people receive the support they need.
- Supporting the completion of care plans, risk assessments and regular reviews.
- Working closely with care staff, providing guidance, support, supervision and coaching.
- Supporting recruitment and staff retention, including working with our recruitment team to identify potential candidates and build relationships that encourage staff referrals.
- Building positive relationships with people receiving care, their families and other professionals.
- Dealing with day-to-day challenges, including staffing issues, complaints and concerns, and ensuring these are followed up appropriately.
- Carrying out quality checks, identifying areas for improvement and making sure any issues are addressed.
- Developing your understanding of budgets, workforce planning and service performance.
You'll have the support of experienced managers throughout your development, with the opportunity to put what you learn into practice.
What are we looking for?
You must have at least two years' experience working as a Care Coordinator or Care Supervisor.
We're particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience in care at home and are confident managing the challenges that come with coordinating care and supporting a team.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a good understanding of care delivery, staff scheduling and the importance of providing consistent, high-quality care.
- Is organised, approachable and confident communicating with staff, service users and families.
- Can think on their feet, solve problems and remain calm when things don't go to plan.
- Takes responsibility for their work and follows things through.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding, person-centred care and maintaining high standards.
- Is comfortable using care management systems and keeping accurate records.
- Is open to feedback, keen to learn and genuinely interested in progressing into management.
- Can travel throughout South Lanarkshire to visit services and support staff.
You don't need to have previous experience as a Service Manager. We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in care coordination or supervision who is ready to take that next step.
What can we offer you?
- £32,000 annual salary.
- A structured training and development programme designed to prepare you for a Care at Home Service Manager role.
- Hands-on experience working alongside our existing management team.
- Ongoing guidance, feedback and support as you develop your skills.
- Opportunities to take on greater responsibility as you progress through your training.
- The chance to develop your career while making a genuine difference to the people and communities we support.
Ready to take the next step?
