Precision Radiology is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sonographer Trainee to join our growing diagnostic imaging team in January 2027. Please note, this is a paid trainee position.

This is an exciting opportunity for a university graduate who is interested in developing a career in medical ultrasound while working within an independent, community-focused radiology practice on the beautiful Eyre Peninsula.

About Precision Radiology

Precision Radiology is an independently owned and operated diagnostic imaging practice based in Port Lincoln, South Australia.

We provide a comprehensive range of imaging services including Ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI and Bone Densitometry (DEXA), supporting patients and referring clinicians across Port Lincoln and the wider Eyre Peninsula.

Our focus is on providing high-quality, timely and patient-centred diagnostic imaging while creating a supportive workplace where our team can continue to learn and develop professionally.

About the Opportunity

The successful applicant will undertake supervised training in diagnostic medical ultrasound while working alongside experienced sonographers and the wider Precision Radiology team.

This position would suit someone with a strong science background who is keen to develop their clinical knowledge, technical skills and patient-care abilities in the field of sonography.

You will gain exposure to a broad range of ultrasound examinations and work within a busy regional imaging practice servicing a diverse patient population.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A completed university degree with a science background as a minimum requirement
• Be enrolled in an accredited Post-Graduate Sonography course within Australia
• A strong interest in pursuing a career in diagnostic medical ultrasound
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional, compassionate and patient-focused approach
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A willingness to learn and actively participate in ongoing professional development

Highly Regarded

A background or qualification in medical radiography will be considered a significant advantage.

Previous experience within healthcare, medical imaging, anatomy, physiology or another clinically relevant field will also be highly regarded.
