Trainee Stonemason

Ready to learn a trade and build a career with your hands, but only have labouring experience?

We’re looking for a motivated trainee stonemason to join our team. No previous stonemasonry experience is required—we're looking for someone with the right attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work alongside experienced Stonemason, developing practical skills while working on a variety of projects.

About the role

As a trainee stonemason, you’ll learn the skills required to work confidently and safely within the trade. Your day-to-day work will include:

• Assisting experienced Stonemason and other tradesmen on site
• Learning stone preparation, installation, repair and finishing techniques
• Using hand and power tools safely
• Preparing work areas, materials, and equipment
• Measuring, cutting and handling materials
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Developing your technical skills through practical, on-the-job training

About you

You don’t need previous experience in stonemasonry. We’re more interested in finding someone who:

• Experience with hands-on work
• Is reliable and turns up ready to work
• Is physically capable and comfortable working in a construction environment
• Takes pride in doing a job properly
• Is willing to listen, learn and take direction
• Works well as part of a team
• Has good attention to detail
• Understands the importance of workplace safety

A current driver’s licence and White Card are a minimum requirement.
