Job Description – Trainee Store Assistant

A Store Assistant supports the daily operations of a retail store by assisting customers, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the store is clean, organized, and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers with inquiries and purchases.
• Operate cash registers and process payments accurately.
• Replenish shelves and ensure products are properly displayed.
• Monitor inventory and report low stock levels.
• Keep the store clean, tidy, and organized.
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and store standards.
• Support promotional activities and sales campaigns.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills.
• Teamwork and reliability.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Previous retail experience is an advantage but not always required.
