Trainee Wind Turbine Technician

We are a small but dynamic company, and have been involved in the installation, maintenance and servicing of onshore wind turbines for over 10 years. Based in Pickering, North Yorkshire, we look after sites across the UK, from 10kW to 1MW.

Job Overview
This role presents the opportunity to join our experienced team, develop your existing practical and problem solving skills, and applying them in a wind turbine environment.

Through hands-on experience, our lead technicians will train you to become a fully competent turbine technician. On any given day you will be working with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, learning fault finding methods and overcoming unexpected challenges. You'll spend a good amount of time working at height, while also travelling across the UK to work in a variety of challenging environments.

This position requires a commitment to safety, the willingness to travel and the ability to work and learn as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular service inspections of wind turbines.
• Perform repairs and maintenance of mechanical and electrical components as necessary.
• Utilise power tools and hand tools effectively for installation and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any significant findings to management.

Requirements

• Proven mechanical knowledge.
• Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools.
• Basic electrical skills are advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions safely.
• A valid, clean driving licence.
• Availability to travel/work away most weeks.
• Willingness to undergo training as required for health and safety compliance.
• Must live within easy commuting distance of Pickering, North Yorkshire
