We’re looking for a Trainer to join our growing team. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining the competence of operational teams through the delivery of high-quality safety and operational training. The role will involve travelling across our sites in the South West to deliver training to our operational teams. Working in line with UK legislation, awarding body requirements and JN Bentley management systems, you will ensure learners have the skills, knowledge and confidence to work safely and effectively.

This is a varied role that combines practical training delivery, learner assessment and quality assurance, while supporting continuous improvement, compliance and the wider JN Bentley Safety Strategy. You'll work closely with operational teams to promote safe working practices, support upskilling initiatives and maintain high training standards across the business.

As a Trainer, you will:

  • Deliver training courses in line with JN Bentley requirements, approved lesson plans and training materials.
  • Support the JN Bentley Safety Strategy by promoting safe working practices and awareness of high-energy hazards.
  • Assess learner suitability, competence and development through training, familiarisation activities and plant/equipment assessments.
  • Support onboarding programmes, experience weeks and NVQ-related training activities.
  • Maintain accurate training records, course documentation and learner registrations.
  • Support quality assurance activities, audits and awarding body compliance requirements.
  • Review training standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of training delivery and materials.
  • Maintain training facilities, equipment and resources, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Provide technical training support to operational teams, incident investigations and business-wide training initiatives.
  • Review and sign off operator logbooks in line with company and awarding body requirements.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience delivering construction-related training and/or practical experience using operational plant and equipment.
  • A strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • Knowledge of awarding body standards such as NPORS, EUSR or equivalent.
  • A recognised training and assessment qualification (such as the Award in Education and Training), or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • The ability to engage, assess and develop learners with varying levels of experience and competence.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development, Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) processes and maintaining professional competence.
