As the third largest electricity distribution network in New Zealand, we cover remote rural areas, regional towns and the city of Christchurch.
We are an essential service and take our responsibilities seriously. We are community owned and working here means a career with meaning and purpose that makes a difference in your very own neighbourhood.
The role
Working across the classroom, field and wider business, you will:
- Deliver classroom and practical training and assessment that supports the development and maintenance of network operating competencies

- Apply your field experience as a subject matter expert to improve operating standards, procedures and learning resources
- Support the planning and delivery of our annual training and coaching programme
You'll work closely with our field teams, contractors, service delivery partners and other technical specialists, bringing an operational perspective to how we build capability across the network.
About you
You'll bring genuine electricity network operations experience, with the credibility to relate to people in the field, share your knowledge and turn technical information into practical learning that makes sense.
- Level 6 NZDE (Electrical) or equivalent practical experience with a current electrical registration and practising licence
- Strong operational experience in transmission and/or distribution environments with sound knowledge of network operations, safety-critical risk management and regulatory requirement
- Proven credibility in the field, with the ability to coach, influence and guide safe work practices through real-world operational experience
- Experience delivering technical training, assessments or structured coaching that translates standards and legislation into practical, usable outcomes
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with field crews, leaders, contractors and service delivery partners
