What they need

Lead. Grow. Innovate. Shape the future of rail training across Australia's East Coast.

Railtrain Holdings Group (RHG) is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Training Operations Manager to lead our East Coast Registered Training Organisation (RTO) operations.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, compliance, workforce capability, client satisfaction, and business growth across our training operations. You'll lead a team of trainers and coordinators while partnering with industry clients to deliver high-quality, compliant, and commercially successful training solutions.

About the Role

Reporting to the RTO General Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of our East Coast training operations. You'll lead a team of trainers, ensure quality and compliance standards are met, build strong client relationships, and support the continued growth of our training business. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines people management, operational oversight and business development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting trainers to deliver high-quality training outcomes.
  • Managing training operations, budgets and performance across the East Coast.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Ensuring compliance with RTO standards, funding contracts and regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing enterprise projects, third-party partnerships and training contracts.

About You

You're an experienced leader who understands how to balance operational delivery, compliance and customer relationships. You enjoy building capable teams, solving problems and working closely with clients to achieve practical outcomes. Experience within an RTO environment is essential, and rail industry experience will be highly regarded.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
  • Leadership experience within an RTO, training or vocational education environment.
  • A strong understanding of RTO compliance and quality requirements.
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering training solutions to industry customers.
  • Commercial awareness, including budgeting and performance management.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to lead, coach and develop a geographically dispersed team.
  • Experience in the rail industry, government-funded training contracts or third-party arrangements will be highly regarded

Why Railtrain

This is an opportunity to lead and grow a well-established training operation that plays an important role in Australia's rail industry. You'll have the autonomy to make an impact, support a capable team, and help shape the future of our East Coast training business.

We offer:

  • A leadership role with real influence.
  • A supportive and collaborative leadership team.
  • Opportunities to drive growth and improve business performance.
  • Professional development and career progression.
  • Competitive remuneration and benefits.
  • The chance to work with leading rail and infrastructure organisations.
