Transactional Accountant

The Accounting Assistant role will be responsible for assisting the processing of Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable, as well as supporting day-to-day journal data entry and ledger maintenance.  Duties also consist of effectively maintaining Business Administration and supplier list. This includes paying various business invoices in a timely manner, within business terms and efficiently maintaining significant debtors’ portfolio to enhance cash flow.

Accounts Payable

• Ensure invoices and direct debits are processed upon receipt.
• Ensure that Suppliers and Contractors are paid on company’s Trading Terms.
• Accuracy of Payments are maintained.
• Match contractor invoices to timesheets and HR rates.
• Reconcile supplier invoices to purchase orders.
• Reconcile creditor statements.
• Process travel, expense and mileage claims.
• Process credit cards.

Accounts Receivable

• Record receipts on Prepare product and on-billing invoices.
• Raise credit notes.
• Ensure Credit Notes are authorised.
• Submit invoices and credit notes to customers.
• Administer receipting.
• File remittance advices.
• Debtor collection and statements.
• 5 years in a similar role within a professional services organization
• Degree level qualification in Accounting
• Oracle Financials experience or similar Accounting Systems highly desirable
• Microsoft Office (intermediate)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to interpret data and identify information from monthly trends
• High attention to detail, and focus on integrity of data
