What they need

Kleinanzeigen is the leading online classifieds market in Germany. Users buy and sell on Germany's No. 1 for classifieds mainly second-hand. In this way they make an active contribution to more sustainability. On average, more than 55 million ads are available in numerous categories – from children's supplies to electronics and real estate. Kleinanzeigen also offers small and medium-sized businesses the opportunity to present their services online. Around 35 million users per month make Kleinanzeigen one of the most widely used websites in Germany. Kleinanzeigen was launched in September 2009 as eBay Kleinanzeigen. Since June 2021, the company has been part of Adevinta, a global provider of online classified ads. In May 2023, the name was changed to Kleinanzeigen.

The Job We are looking for a Transformation Lead to work closely with our CHRO and Leadership Team as Kleinanzeigen navigates its journey to becoming a fully standalone company. This is a pivotal moment, and we need someone who can drive the transformation agenda across AI adoption, cultural change and new ways of working.

This is not a traditional HR role. You bring a strategist's mindset, sharp analytical instincts and the stakeholder management gravitas to operate credibly at leadership level.

This is a fixed-term role (2 years) at our office is in Berlin. You report to the CHRO.

Job requirements

  • Own and maintain an integrated company transformation portfolio, translating agreed strategy into a prioritised roadmap, including what to stop or simplify, and making sequencing, dependencies, sponsors, milestones, risks and decision needs transparent.
  • Partner with the Head of AI Enablement, Organisational Effectiveness & Enablement and business sponsors to ensure that AI, operating-model and cultural changes are coherently reflected in the overall transformation approach and roadmap.
  • Lead cultural change initiatives, embedding new ways of working and navigating the balance between remote flexibility and meaningful in-person collaboration.
  • Establish effective steering and review rhythms; surface cross-initiative blockers early, prepare decisions and trade-offs for the relevant sponsors and leadership forums, and maintain momentum through clear follow-up, escalation and a transformation scorecard connecting progress with business outcomes.
  • Turn data, benchmarks and business context into sharp insights and recommendations, and structure ambiguous topics into clear choices and scenarios that enable confident executive decision-making.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner and constructive challenger to the CHRO and Leadership Team, manage senior stakeholders including ExCo and employee representative bodies (e.g. Works Council), build trusted relationships with teams, and work closely with our Internal Comms Lead so the Leadership Team communicates transformation topics with one voice.

Job responsibilities

  • Proven track record of leading complex, large-scale transformation programmes in fast-moving environments – this is a must.
  • Strong analytical and strategic capabilities: you can build a business case, work with data and translate ambiguity into clear priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management at ExCo level: credible, commercially grounded and able to challenge constructively.
  • Solid programme management discipline: plans that work, progress that is tracked, accountability without bureaucracy.
  • Background in strategy, consulting (preferred), programme leadership or a CEO/Executive Office, and experience in tech or digital businesses.
  • Excellent English; German is a plus.
