Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and organized Transit Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will coordinate daily transportation operations, manage vehicle dispatching, and ensure timely and safe transit services. Your energetic approach will help streamline communication between drivers, clients, and internal teams to deliver exceptional service every day.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate the dispatching of transit vehicles using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software
• Communicate effectively with drivers via phone calls and internal communication channels to provide route updates and support
• Track vehicle locations using GPS technology and utilize GIS tools for route optimization and analysis
• Manage scheduling, routing, and real-time adjustments to ensure adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards
• Maintain accurate data entry records related to dispatch activities, freight movements, and customer interactions
• Handle customer service inquiries with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and organizational skills
• Collaborate with logistics teams on supply chain coordination, shipping & receiving processes, and fleet management

Requirements

• Proven experience with transportation planning, road transportation operations, or logistics management
• Strong analysis skills for route optimization and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Ability to handle phone call management efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure

Pay: $20.00 - $20.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 35.0 per week
