Transmission Staff

About the role

Transmission Staff role involving monitoring and maintenance of transmission networks including microwave, fiber optic, and other transmission devices to ensure inter-site/BTS connectivity and network availability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor transmission networks such as microwave, fiber optic, and other transmission devices
• Ensure inter-site/BTS connections operate normally and maintain network availability
• Perform troubleshooting when transmission link disruptions occur
• Check and analyse alarms on transmission devices
• Coordinate with NOC team, engineering, field engineers, and vendors in handling disruptions
• Perform preventive maintenance and periodic device checks
• Create reports related to disruptions, maintenance, network performance, and troubleshooting results
• Perform basic transmission device configuration according to company procedures
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrade processes for transmission devices
• Ensure configuration documentation and network topology are kept up to date

About you

• Minimum D3/S1 education in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, or related field
• Understanding of basic telecommunications and transmission network fundamentals
• Understanding of fiber optic, microwave, IP network, bandwidth, latency, and link connectivity concepts
• Basic network troubleshooting capability
• Familiarity with transmission devices such as Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson, Nokia, or similar vendors is an advantage
• Understanding of basic TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, and Ethernet is an advantage
• Able to read network topology and network diagrams
• Able to use network monitoring tools/NMS
• Able to work individually and in teams
• Willing to work shifts, on-call, or travel to sites as needed
