Transmission Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission diagnostics, repairs, and replacements efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Diagnose transmission concerns using electronic diagnostic equipment and specialized tools.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild automatic and manual transmissions as needed.
• Perform transmission fluid changes, filter replacements, and other related maintenance services.
• Identify and recommend necessary repairs to ensure the safety, performance, and reliability of customer vehicles.
• Communicate directly with Service Advisors regarding diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and estimated completion times.
• Complete repair orders and document all work performed accurately and thoroughly.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive transmission repair experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Experience operating electronic diagnostic equipment and specialized transmission repair tools.
• Knowledge of automatic transmissions, drivetrain components, and related vehicle systems.
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies.
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Willingness to learn new technology, repair procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
