Transport Controller

A well-established logistics company based in Phoenix Industrial Park is seeking a dedicated, organised and experienced Transport Controller to join its operations team.

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor daily transport operations, including deliveries, collections and vehicle allocations.
• Plan and schedule vehicle routes to ensure efficient utilisation of the fleet.
• Communicate with drivers regarding delivery schedules, routes, loading instructions and customer requirements.
• Monitor vehicle movements and delivery progress to ensure on-time performance.
• Liaise with customers, warehouse personnel, dispatch teams and management regarding transport requirements.
• Ensure all delivery notes, trip sheets, PODs (Proof of Delivery) and other transport documentation are completed accurately.
• Track and follow up on outstanding deliveries, delays, breakdowns and other operational issues.
• Monitor driver attendance, working hours and compliance with company procedures.
• Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and that maintenance issues are reported and followed up.
• Maintain accurate transport records, daily reports and fleet utilisation information.
• Assist with resolving customer queries, delivery discrepancies and transport-related complaints.
• Ensure compliance with road traffic legislation, health and safety requirements and company policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve route planning, operational efficiency and transport costs.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• Previous experience in a transport control, fleet coordination or logistics operations role.
• Experience in the transport or distribution industry will be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of route planning, vehicle scheduling and delivery coordination.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, email and transport management systems

Pay: R10 000,00 - R12 000,00 per month
