What they need
Job Title: Cartage Coordinator / Transport Allocator****Location: Erskine park or Banksmeadow
Work Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Industry: Transport & Logistics / Freight Operations
About the CompanyThe company is an established transport and logistics provider operating across metro distribution, container drayage, and general freight management. Supported by a modern fleet and an expanding client base, the business built its reputation on operational safety, service reliability, and efficiency across the supply chain.
My client, a fast-growing transport and logistics business in Sydney, is looking for a dynamic Transport Allocator / Cartage Coordinator to join their fast-paced operations team.
While dynamic routing and fleet planning are central to this role, my client knows that high-level operational success starts with exceptional communication and customer service. If you come from a strong customer service, scheduling, or service coordination background and have a sharp eye for detail, a cool head under pressure, and a drive to solve daily puzzles, this is an outstanding opportunity to build a long-term career in transport operations.
You’ll Be Doing:
- Daily Scheduling: Allocating daily freight runs and coordinating movement schedules across drivers and subcontractors.
- Customer & Driver Contact: Serving as the key link between clients, site managers, and transport staff, ensuring clear updates on delivery ETAs and site access.
- Problem-Solving: Handling real-time changes, traffic delays, and urgent delivery updates with a calm, resolution-focused mindset.
- System Administration: Processing freight documentation, updating the Transport Management System (TMS), and managing delivery confirmations (PODs).
- Safety & Compliance: Supporting driver welfare by keeping alignment with heavy vehicle fatigue and safety standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Customer-First Mindset: Proven background in customer service, retail management, service desk, dispatch, or logistics administration.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional phone manner and written skills, with the ability to build quick rapport with drivers and clients alike.
- Adaptability & Resilience: Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks on the fly, and thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
- Tech-Savvy: Fast learner with software, MS Excel, and digital scheduling tools (prior TMS or GPS tracking experience is a bonus, but not essential).
What’s On Offer:
- A welcoming, supportive team environment ready to mentor candidates making a step up or transition into transport allocation.
- Excellent long-term stability with clear pathways for career progression.
- A competitive salary tailored to your experience.
