About Prima

At Prima, we've spent almost 30 years building a reputation for quality, service and doing what we say we'll do. Behind every delivery, customer order and product leaving our sites is a team of dedicated people working together to keep our customers supplied and our business moving forward

The Opportunity

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Transport Planner to join our busy Logistics team and help keep our operation moving smoothly.

This is a key role within our Logistics team, supporting the planning and coordination of daily transport schedules to make sure deliveries and collections are completed on time.

You’ll be working closely with drivers, hauliers, ports, customers, suppliers, and internal teams to help ensure finished goods are ready, routes are planned, paperwork is accurate and any issues are dealt with quickly and professionally.

No two days are quite the same, so we’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and able to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Planning and coordinating daily transport schedules, deliveries, and collections.
  • Allocating vehicles, drivers, and routes to support an efficient operation.
  • Liaising with internal departments to make sure finished goods are ready in line with loading schedules.
  • Working closely with freight forwarders, hauliers, ports, customers, and suppliers.
  • Raising orders and sales orders using internal systems and Sage 200.
  • Arranging and completing transport and shipping documentation accurately and on time.
  • Supporting the loading and dispatch of orders.
  • Helping resolve transport or customer queries in a timely and professional way.
  • Maintaining high standards of service, accuracy, and customer care.
  • Supporting the wider team and contributing to a smooth day to day operation.

About You

You’ll be organised, dependable and comfortable working in a busy Logistics environment. You’ll enjoy working with different people across the business and externally, and you’ll take pride in keeping things accurate, on track and moving.

You’ll be someone who can manage changing priorities, communicate clearly, and find practical solutions when plans change.

You’ll ideally have:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar transport, logistics or planning role.
  • HGV rules and transport compliance knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Webfleet would be desirable.
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and hauliers.
  • Good IT skills.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work well as part of a team.
  • A reliable, flexible and solutions focused approach.
  • A strong team ethic and willingness to support others.

Why Join Prima?

  • Be part of a company that’s ambitious, growing and packed with character.
  • Join an established Logistics team where your role makes a real difference.
  • Work with colleagues across Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and Supply Chain.
  • Be part of a business where quality, service and teamwork genuinely matter.
  • Have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of our products, customers, systems, and wider operation.
  • Join a team where people support each other and take pride in what they do.

Supportive Environment

  • Our people are key to our success. We’re committed to providing a supportive, inclusive environment and structured training to help you develop your knowledge of our business, products, customers, and systems.
