Transport Planner

About The Role As a Transport Planner at GXO Logistics, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing transport plans to ensure efficient routing, optimal vehicle utilization and timely deliveries. You will coordinate orders, routes, fleet capacity and drivers, ensuring that customer service remains at the heart of all transport operations.

You will work closely with the transportation team and other internal and external stakeholders to resolve planning issues, maintain accurate documentation and ensure smooth day-to-day transport operations.

What You Will Do

• Create and manage daily transport plans, allocating orders to the most efficient routes.
• Optimize route planning to improve efficiency, vehicle utilization and delivery performance.
• Coordinate fleet capacity and driver allocation to ensure optimal use of available resources.
• Monitor transport schedules, identify deviations and resolve planning issues promptly.
• Coordinate and provide direction to drivers to ensure smooth execution of transport activities.
• Process and maintain accurate transport documentation and administrative records.
• Communicate with internal departments, freight forwarders, brokers and carriers to coordinate transport activities.
• Maintain a strong customer focus by ensuring efficient, reliable and timely service.
• Identify opportunities to improve transport planning processes and operational efficiency.
• Work in accordance with applicable procedures, operational requirements and customer expectations.

What You Will Bring

• A vocational qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a comparable field.
• At least 3 years of operational experience in transport planning, logistics or a similar role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
• Good analytical skills and the ability to interpret information, identify issues and find practical solutions.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic operational environment.
• A proactive and disciplined approach, with a strong sense of personal accountability.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider team.
• Good customer service skills, including professional telephone and email communication.
• The ability to coordinate activities and provide clear instructions to others.
• The ability to understand and follow work instructions in English.
