Transportation Engineer

We are currently seeking a self-motivated Transportation Engineer for our Cary, NC office. The successful candidate should have strong technical expertise in roadway design, and preferably progressive project development and management experience. Task assignments may include roadway design, feasibility studies, bike/ped improvements, signing, pavement marking and traffic control design, and technical report preparations. Responsibilities may also include project management and marketing. Some travel to project sites or meetings may be required.

Job Requirements

• A minimum of two years of roadway design experience preferably with NCDOT. Senior positions are available for candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Thorough understanding of roadway design principles, and familiar with NCDOT’s design guidelines, standards and the NEPA regulations and approval process.
• Proficiency in engineering design programs including MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer /ConceptStation, GuideSIGN, and AutoTurn.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness and ability to learn new job skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• NC PE or ability to obtain PE is preferred.
