Transportation Manager

The Transportation Manager oversees daily operations of an LTL trucking terminal. This role ensures efficient freight handling, staff supervision, safety compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations: Supervise drivers, dock workers, and administrative staff. Ensure smooth loading, unloading, and freight handling.
• Safety: Enforce OSHA and DOT regulations. Conduct safety meetings, training, and audits.
• Staff Management: Recruit, train, and mentor employees. Provide feedback and foster teamwork.
• Customer Service: Build strong customer relationships. Address inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Financials: Manage budgets, analyze reports, and implement cost-saving measures.
• Route Planning: Collaborate with dispatchers to optimize delivery routes for efficiency and customer needs.
• Inventory Control: Oversee freight tracking and minimize losses or damages.
• Compliance: Stay updated on industry regulations and maintain accurate records.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvements and adopt new technologies.
• Communication: Provide updates to management and maintain open communication with corporate offices and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in LTL trucking operations and terminal management.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and transportation laws.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with technology and software for terminal operations.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
